Impressions from four months in Mongolia, starting at the beginning of April 2011. "Sonin yu baina?" is Mongolian for "What's new?".
I'm here to learn basic Mongolian but first and foremost to volunteer as an English teacher.
It immediately calls to mind Coleridge: In Xanadu did Kubla KhanA stately pleasure-dome decree:Where Alph, the sacred river, ranThrough caverns measureless to manDown to a sunless sea.So twice five miles of fertile groundWith walls and towers were girdled round:And there were gardens bright with sinuous rills,Where blossomed many an incense-bearing tree; And here were forests ancient as the hills,Enfolding sunny spots of greenery.Still as lovely today, imagine that! We're very happy to see you have arrived safely, though!
Skämtare där! I thought you didn't like poetry and still you seem always to have a suitable little poem at hand :-)
Quel château...en Espagne?
